Today we're checking out Rogers, Minnesota!
A fast growing suburb northwest of Minneapolis, Rogers is right in the path of progress and has a lot going for it. With beautiful outdoor spaces, tons of new build homes, and good schools, Rogers is certainly one to check out!
Let's get after it!
Rogers Vibes
Home to a little less than15,000 residents, Rogers is located about 30 minutes northwest of downtown Minneapolis, 30-40 minutes from St. Paul, and about 45 minutes to the airport. Rogers is bordered to the north by the city of St. Michael, the city of Dayton to the east, the city of Corcoran to the south, and again St. Michael to the west.
Rogers is growing at a significant rate. Between 1990 and 2000, it grew 414%, then another 140% between 2000 and 2010, and since 2010 it has grown another 70%. This has a lot to do with its location about 30 minutes from downtown Minneapolis (depending on traffic) and our metro is expanding outwards from the center.
Overall the schools in Rogers are good, but not great. A trend we see with cities like Rogers growing so fast, is that the schools just haven't quite caught up. Rogers is served primarily by the Elk River ISD #728 which is rated a B+*. It is also served by the Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose ISD #877 in the southern portion of Rogers, which is also rated a B+*. Expanding on the schools, both the Rogers Senior High School and Middle School are rated a B+*, while the Buffalo Senior High School and Middle School, is rated a B*. There are 3 elementary schools to choose from, and they are all rated an A-*.
