Today Alex and i are taking a tour of Plymouth, 7th largest city in the twin cities, and listed 3 times on America's best places to live. Plymouth is a good place with a strong sense of community, but one of the reasons people move here is because of the great schools, the city has some of the best schools in Minnesota.
Plymouth has a population of 78,000 and is highly rated for the area's schools. They score an A+ as a whole on Niche.com and are rated 9, 8 and 7 on Greatschools.org.
Plymouth has a very strong community. There are always events going on and you can browse tons of different ones at their website:
They offer a lot of recreational activities, clubs, and sporting events, and you can check the link above for more details.
Pros
Schools - the one people want most is Wayzata
Plenty of conveniences, 20 minutes from the twin cities
Beautiful, spacious homes with large yards
Great park spaces:
Parker’s Lake Park
French Park (near medicine lake)
Things to do: biking, boating, cross country skiing, and so much more
Plymouth Creek Park and Millennium Gardens
Cons
Expensive, the average single family home price is $525,000
Its hard to get into a single family home here at all for under $400k, but you can find townhomes under $300k
Lack of culture and trendy restaurants
A lot of chain restaurants
It can feel a bit congested at times, and highway runs through the city
There isn’t a central mall area. It’s a lot of scattered strip malls around the area
Everyday, I help people who are moving or relocating to the Twin Cities find the home of their dreams in one of the best metropolitan areas in the country! If you're looking for a full service real estate company, that specializes in these cross country (or just across the city), look no further. Welcome to the Twin Cities!
